Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how CloudRift, Inc. ("RiftStack," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares personal information when you visit riftstack.ai (the "Site") or contact us. RiftStack is a research effort operated by CloudRift, Inc., a Delaware corporation. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Site.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you submit our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the contents of your message. If you choose to opt in to research updates, we also record that you gave consent, along with the time and IP address of the opt-in, as a record of your consent.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs — such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested — for security, reliability, and abuse prevention.

Analytics. If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand how the Site is used. It records the pages you view, the site or search that referred you, your approximate location derived from your IP address, and your device and browser type. Google Analytics does not load until you accept. We also use Vercel Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without identifying you. The Site does not use advertising cookies and does not track you across other websites.

2. How we use your information

• To respond to your inquiry or message.
• To send you research updates, only if you opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• To secure the Site and prevent spam and abuse of the contact form.
• To comply with our legal obligations.

3. Legal bases (EEA / UK)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases: your consent (for research updates and for analytics cookies); our legitimate interests in responding to your inquiries and keeping the Site secure; and legal obligation where applicable.

4. When and with whom we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that process it on our behalf:

• Omnisend — manages our contact records and research-update emails.
• Vercel — hosts the Site, processes server logs, and provides cookieless page-view analytics.
• Google — provides Google Analytics, which measures how visitors use the Site.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property, or those of others.

5. International transfers

The Site is hosted in the United States, and our service providers may process your information there. If you access the Site from outside the United States, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

6. How long we keep it

We keep contact submissions for as long as needed to respond and for our reasonable business records. If you opted in to updates, we keep your contact details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. We delete or anonymize information when it is no longer needed.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your information, to withdraw consent, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, email us at hello@riftstack.ai. You can unsubscribe from research updates at any time using the link in any email.

8. Cookies

The only cookies the Site sets are Google Analytics cookies, which measure how visitors use it — for example, which research articles get read. They are set only if you accept them in the banner shown on your first visit. These cookies do not identify you by name, and we do not set advertising cookies or track you across other sites.

To change your mind, select Cookies in the footer of any page. That deletes the analytics cookies already on your device and shows the banner again so you can choose. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout to stop Google Analytics from collecting your visits.

9. Children

The Site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and post the new version on this page.
